Sacred Sexuality and Sexual Alchemy
Unfortunately Not So Sacred...
Much of our sticky, less that expansive or Sacred thoughts, beliefs, and energy about our bodies and sexuality arises from our modern culture and religious cosmology. Some of our predominate socialization practices have had iatrogenic (inadvertent adverse effects) on our ways of thinking about and relating to our bodies, sexuality, fertility, conception/co-creation, and pregnancy. This creates a cycle within the body that directs the hormonal and biological programs we run, and therefore impacts our body’s ease or lack thereof in the arena of sexuality.
One MAJORLY harmful effect of our current socialization process and Western medical model is that it disconnects us from our body as a source of wisdom and guidance. In being guided into organized behavior, learning to follow external schedules, rules, and authority, we are also taught:
"...Western attitudes toward sexuality are unbalanced and might even be called insane. Western culture uses sexuality as a tool for marketing, for inspiring prurient interest and titillating the public before condemning it as immoral. Sex is something that is dirty and disgusting, so much so that you should only do it with someone you love. Sexuality is 'naughty,' and a woman who embraces sexual pleasure is still a 'slut' in the minds of many. At the same time, popular magazines are filled with articles promising to reveal sexual secrets: how to drive your man wild in bed, how to have male multiple orgasms, and on and on. So, the attitudes veer between the puritanical and the salacious, with little room for wonder, awe, or even intentional and conscious exploration of sexuality..."

- (as children) to over-ride our bio-rhythms
- ignore our innate impulses – which are often intuitions
- look outside ourselves and our body wisdom for direction
- body difficulties and pains are to be suppressed (by pills), indicate a 'problem', and are beyond our capacity to understand ('go see the Dr.')

So Then, What is Sacred Sexuality?
Sacred Sexuality is "the intentional and conscious exploration" of the inextricable and wondrously awe-filled communion between our sexuality and our spirituality. More coming soon...
Sexual Alchemy?
Alchemy in its most essential form involves taking base materials and transforming them via catalyzing methods into more desired, higher forms (e.g, lead to gold, body fluids into a fertilized egg and ultimately a child). Ancient alchemists developed the framework for modern chemistry and medicine including our current framework of theory, terminology, experimental processes and lab techniques. However, Alchemy differs from our modern science in the inclusion of Hermetic principles and practices – that is beliefs and practices that seek to influence the world by means of contact with heavenly forces – Soul, Divine Nature, Energy, Mythology, Spirituality. Thus...
Sexual Alchemy involves catalyzing sexual-spiritual communion for supporting activation and fine-tuning of the physiology and energy flows in the body to awaken higher dimensions of self, consciousness, and creative potential thereby increasing harmony and beauty.
